To be considered for this position, the candidate must have both a four year college degree and impeccable time management and organizational skills. The Project Manager is responsible for all aspects of project administration including contract administration, cost control, budget and schedule updates, progress meetings, submittals, quality control, invoicing & sub invoice approval, lien tracking, warranties, guarantees, and final closeout. The Project Manager sets the tone for the job in their relationship with the owner, architect and subcontractors. Communication skills and maturity are critical to success in this role.
Project Estimator
The Project Estimator must have a four-year college degree or a technical training background. The Estimator needs to be an inquisitive thinker and self-motivator who can communicate effectively with owners, architects and subcontractors. Having experience in quantity takeoff is imperative for someone to be considered for this role. The Estimator may be involved on negotiated projects early in the design stage working through a project in its development or the Estimator might be doing takeoff and pricing on a hard bid project once the construction documents are complete. The Estimator needs to be an enthusiastic problem solver and thinker who is comfortable in either role.
Project Superintendent
The Project Superintendent position is critical and requires a person who is both mature and knowledgeable in dealing with people and with the day to day challenges of running a construction project. The Superintendent represents BSI on the “front line” and is our “eyes and ears” on a project once construction starts in the field. And he would also manage BSI tradesmen if we self-perform any work. He must maximize project efficiency and productivity and have just the right temperament to succeed at this balancing act. At least five years of construction experience is imperative to be considered for this role. |
