BSI has successfully completed single projects as small as $50,000 and as large as $150,000,000. While we have the capacity to deliver jobs that are over $100,000,000, most of our projects fall in the $7,000,000 to $15,000,000 range. Safety, quality and cost-competitiveness are paramount on all BSI projects.

Safety
BSI considers no phase of its operation more important than providing a safe working environment for all employees to earn their living, support their families, and execute their work with confidence. Every element of a project is carefully studied to insure that the work can be performed safely. In fact, the work will not proceed unless it can be done safely. The safety of our workers, and the workers of our subcontractors, never takes a “back seat” to any project schedule, financial or corporate gain, or other extraneous factor. BSI is a charter member of the St. Louis Construction Industry Substance Abuse Consortium and all BSI employees, office and field, are enrolled and subject to the substance abuse testing requirements of the Consortium. BSI is committed to safe work conditions on its jobsites.

Quality
Everyone on the BSI team is extremely committed to delivering a quality product. BSI’s total quality program centers on the company principle that every client’s needs as defined in the plans and specifications for their respective project will be met or exceeded. Quality control is implemented throrugh the review of plans and specifications for constructability and cost effectiveness, detailed quantity takeoffs in every category to totally know and understand the job, extensive pre bid discussions and meetings with prospective subcontractor bidders to explain quality expectations, dialogue with the designers to fully understand quality expectation levels, advance contact with material and equipment suppliers to ensure conformance to specification requirements, and assembling and pre-qualifying the best available subcontractor and supplier firms and motivating them to participate in our project bid base.

In the field, our quality control program starts with a thorough review of subcontractor shop drawings by the project engineering staff to assure that the contractor’s initial planning conforms to the contract requirements and normal practices for first-class workmanship. The BSI team will then continue to work with the owner and design team throughout construction and building commissioning to insure that the building meets or exceeds expectations.

Cost-Competitiveness
For a company who excels at large projects, we watch the (your) pennies like no one else. Our team comes from a “hard bid” background and is driven to cost control all through the project. We stay away from the “big job” mentality wherein certain inefficiencies are just accepted. We truly believe that at the end of the day, selecting BSI will ensure the lowest overall project cost.
