At BSI, we have a strong history of
partnering with MBE, WBE and DBE companies on many important
projects. Working with and mentoring these companies is an
important part of our corporate philosophy. BSI Constructors
is committed to maximizing local St. Louis trade contractor
participation in the construction of projects for all clients.
And we will stand on our past success in achieving
participation on all of our projects (esp. those in the City
of St. Louis).
As an example, we have had great success
in our program for the City of St. Louis Public School
District. On approximately $130,000,000 amount of work
awarded, we have achieved MBE/WBE participation of over 30% on
many of the projects in the building program. And our success
is not limited to the St. Louis City Public School Program.
There are significant projects where we
have served as General Contractor and/or Construction Manager
including the American Cancer Society Headquarters, Missouri
Botanical Garden Research Center, Missouri Botanical Garden
Kemper/Boxwood Garden and The Missouri Historical Society –
Jefferson Memorial Expansion. On all these projects, we have
successfully achieved MBE/WBE/DBE participation in excess of
25%.
To achieve these goals, BSI has employed
techniques including special solicitation, mentoring,
partnering, advertising in minority newspapers, assistance
with estimating, assistance with payroll, special telephone
consultations, etc. Key to engaging MBE, WBE and DBE success
on projects falls on BSI’s ability to leverage its
relationships in the community. BSI is no stranger to
successfully engaging the local minority contracting
community. BSI has worked hard to develop these relationships
that are based on mutual trust and respect. |
