BSI Recertified for OSHA VPP Star Status

OSHA describes its Voluntary Protection Program (VPP) as a prestigious program that recognizes companies that have built exemplary safety and health management systems; companies that exhibit proactive cooperation between management, labor, and OSHA to move past basic compliance toward continuous improvement. Only a small share of U.S. employers hold VPP status, and construction contractors are a small slice of that group. So we were understandably pleased when we learned last week that OSHA has recertified BSI for another three years in the program.  When BSI first passed the rigorous OSHA VPP process in 2008, we became the first general contractor in our seven-state OSHA region to ever do so. Since then, two other St. Louis general contractors have also earned the recognition. We encourage others to pursue it as well, because if there’s one thing we shouldn’t compete on, it’s safety. Our entire industry benefits when injuries are prevented and when every worker goes home healthy each day.
