BSI Wins Two National Construction Awards

At the Associated General Contractors national convention in Orlando last month, BSI was honored to receive two national Baldwin Group “Build America” Awards: (1) the Build America Award for the Chapel of the Risen Christ (CM New, under $20 million category), and (2) a Build America Merit Award for the Jack C. Taylor Music Center at Powell Hall (CM Renovation, $75 million to $125 million). The Chapel was also recognized as one of the top four overall projects in the United States across all categories, with Project Manager Joe Shaughnessy representing BSI on a “Best of the Best” panel at the convention where winners provided insights on the top projects. These prestigious awards are very hard to win; our previous winning projects were Citygarden in 2010 and St. Louis Public Libraries Central Branch in 2014. We are grateful for the recognition, but mostly for the architects – Snohetta/Christner and St. Louis Design Alliance – who came up with the daring and innovative designs, and the great clients – St. Louis Symphony Orchestra and Catholic Cemeteries of St. Louis – who entrusted BSI with these challenging assignments.
